Carbon & Energy
Reduce emissions through efficient route planning, vehicle load optimisation and gradual transition to low-emission or electric vehicles.
Improve energy efficiency in storage and office facilities, including responsible use of climate control, LED lighting, and routine maintenance.
Monitor and review energy use annually.
Materials & Waste
Prioritise recyclable, reusable, and responsibly sourced packing materials (including FSC-certified timber where appropriate).
Re-use crates and protective materials whenever conservation standards allow.
Segregate waste and maximise recycling.
Social Responsibility
Provide a safe, inclusive workplace and comply with UK employment and health & safety legislation (including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974).
Offer training in safe art handling, sustainability practices, and environmental awareness.
Support the UK arts community through fair partnerships and, where feasible, community initiatives.
Ethical Business Practices
Comply with all relevant UK transport, environmental, and cultural-heritage regulations.
Maintain transparent chain-of-custody and documentation standards.
Work with suppliers and subcontractors who demonstrate ethical and sustainable practices.
Governance & Review
A designated Green Ambassador monitor progress and report annually.
Annual targets will be set for emissions, waste reduction, and resource efficiency.
This policy will be reviewed each year or in response to regulatory changes.
